Travel Outpost: Why Sedona, Arizona Should Be On Your List
I just got back from what might have been the most relaxing, healing and truly disconnected PTO, spent in a destination some might say is a off the mainstream—Sedona, Arizona.
So, why Sedona?
Honestly, I really wanted to see the red rock canyons. Having moved across the country several times, I am familiar with most modern US landscapes—except for the desert, specifically these glorious red rocks. I knew that my intentions for this trip were going to be to disconnect, move around/exert energy, and be outdoors as much as possible. That said—it’s a highly niche desire, but I do recommend everyone get out west to see this area at some point. The view really is one of a kind.
One thing about Sedona…there’s not much to it. I came to specifically see and hike through the red rocks, and that is exactly what I did. Nothing more, nothing less. For me, what makes a trip like this special is all about where you end up staying. If you don’t have many plans, odds are you’ll find yourself sitting around and wanting to enjoy your rest—and this top notch Air BnB knew exactly the vibe I was going for. Operated by Superhost Bridget, this nature-centric and wellness minded Air BnB is sure to make anyone feel like a west desert native in the comforts of traditional AZ design.
The biggest elements for me with this stay would be the proximity to the trails, and of course the gorgeous design and accommodations within the home. The access to the Andante trail is within 30 feet of this property, making it the ultimate hiker’s paradise for getting an early start. Bonus points: as the trails along the way are mild and quiet from other hikers, you won’t really start to see others until you near the trailhead crossing over through Teacup Trail! After a long day of hiking, you will feel like you are in absolute bliss when you come back to your little retreat, complete with full soaking tub (which yes, feels just as nice as it looks), king beds, and plenty of space both indoor and outdoor for cooking, relaxing or entertaining.
This property is a new listing with only 9 reviews on Air BnB, so far. I recommend booking sooner than later before the word is out on this gem! High season for tourists in Sedona is usually October-November, so you better act quick if you are trying to squeeze in one more trip before end of year.
